Winter’s Sorrow

My heart, once full of love, now shatters like a rose in bloom
The petals fall, frozen and barren, like the winter’s gloom
Tears fall like rain, a never-ending deluge, a sea of sorrow that never dries
A bitter reminder of what I’ve lost, like the taste of ashes on my tongue

My heart is shattered, a mirror reflecting back the shards of my shattered dreams
The pain pierces deep, a heavy burden I cannot seem to lift
I search for solace, but it eludes me, like a mirage on a desert’s horizon

My tears fall like autumn leaves, like the last rays of sunlight in the sky
Their sound echoes through emptiness, like the howling wind in a desolate landscape
I feel my heart breaking, like a tree branch snapping under the weight of snow
A sharp, jagged pain that cuts through me, like a knife slicing through the frost

My heart may be broken, but it will mend
With time and patience, it will ascend
For though love is lost, it will return
And my heart, once again, will burn with the fire of life.
