Road Trip

At the edge of the eastern shore,
Where buildings rise and city roars,
The journey starts with hopeful hearts,
And dreams of western sunsets dart,
From New York City, we embark,
An odyssey across our land so stark,
We’ll cruise by concrete, streets and lights,
As we head west to reach new heights.

The rolling hills of Appalachia,
A prelude to nature’s symphony,
Trees swaying with the wind’s caress,
Our minds uncluttered by the press,
We climb up mountains tall and steep,
And through the valleys where rivers weep,
The scent of pine as fresh as can be,
As we journey towards our destiny.

The plains stretch on for miles and miles,
Where amber waves dance with the winds’ smiles,
Cornfields sway in a rhythmic charm,
And barns stand proud in quiet calm,
We stop to chat with friendly folk,
And taste their warmth like fresh-baked oatmeal cookies,
Their stories rich with history untold,
As we drive on through the heart of old.

Beyond the plains and rolling fields,
Lies a desolate land where silence yields,
To the desert’s vast, barren landscape,
Where cacti stand like ancient sentinels in wait,
The sun beats down with scorching heat,
As we journey on through dusty streets,
A hawk soars high above our heads,
In a land where life is sparse instead.

Majestic mountains tower tall,
And cast their shadows great and small,
Over rivers, streams, and winding trails,
That lead us onward through the dales,
We scale peaks that reach for skies above,
And gaze out at landscapes in awe and love,
The Rocky Mountains stand guard over all,
A timeless fortress, ever standing tall.

Into the western frontier we ride,
Where cowboys roamed with pride,
And their stories live on through the ages,
Of a time when life was wild and free of cages,
The scent of sagebrush fills our lungs,
As we venture deeper into the wilderness’ bungles,
With every twist and turn,
A new adventure for us to learn.

At long last, our journey nears an end,
As we reach the beautiful Pacific Rim,
The ocean stretches out before our eyes,
In shades of blue that evoke surprise,
With sand between our toes and sun on our skin,
We breathe in deeply life’s sweet beginning,
And as the waves crash along the shore,
Our hearts echo with what we have explored.

A drive across America complete,
The memories etched into our hearts and feet,
From New York City to the California coastline,
We’ve witnessed sights both grand and divine,
And now as this journey comes to an end,
Our souls are enriched, our friendships depend,
For through the highs and lows we’ve faced together,
Our bond is stronger than any weather.

Though our drive across America may end here today,
We know this journey will not fade away,
As the memories forever reside deep within our hearts,
And remind us that life is but a work of art,
So we’ll continue on, with new adventures to pursue,
Knowing that together, anything we can do,
For life is one continuous journey,
Filled with endless stories and unending glory.
