Insanity whispers softly in my ear,
A voice that’s cruel and filled with fear,
As if I am trapped inside a maze,
With every turn, it consumes me, amaze.
The world around me starts to blur,
Shadows dance as the sun sets off in her curve,
My mind reels and my thoughts swirl,
A kaleidoscope of chaos in its whirl.
Insanity’s grip tightens with each breath I take,
As if grasping at the last remnants of sanity, it shake,
Memories fade like mist upon a lake,
Leaving only fragments behind for me to make.
An eerie calm washes over me now,
In this realm of madness, there is no how or why,
I stand motionless as my thoughts roam free,
Dancing to the tune of insanity’s symphony.
Images flash before my eyes, a blurry slide show,
People I once knew, now mere shadows in this unfamiliar glow,
Sometimes a whisper, sometimes a roar,
The voices grow louder, begging me to stay and explore.
Reality fades as the dreams come alive,
A tapestry woven with threads of strife,
Through this labyrinth of madness I stride,
With each step, reality and fantasy collide.
I laugh maniacally at the world’s absurdity,
For what once made sense is now a mockery,
As sanity crumbles, and madness takes hold,
I revel in this new-found freedom, untold.
Trapped within my mind’s cage, I’m all alone,
Insanity dances to the beats of its own drum,
Without a care for what lies beyond,
A prisoner to these thoughts that have grown strong.
The world around me fades into oblivion,
As insanity paints the canvas in shades of grey and crimson,
It’s all-consuming, a vortex swirling within,
And though madness may be my reality, I cannot help but grin.
