The Earth

In the expanse of space, our dear planet lies
A blue and green jewel that captivates the eyes
The third rock from the sun in its orbit so grand
Bearing life diverse, upon this earth we stand.

From frozen poles to warm equatorial belt
Ecosystems thrive and species are well-knit
Mountain peaks tower while deep oceans conceal
The riches of Earth’s beauty do indeed appeal.

Forests dense, teeming with life unseen
Plains green, where the herds of wildebeest wean
Desert sands stretch on in a golden haze
Rivers flowing free like the spirit they raise.

Earth has seen changes since its birth
Mighty creatures came and passed from the earth
Volcanoes erupted, shaping landscapes anew
Ice ages have come, then slowly withdrew.

Our dear planet Earth, our home and our friend
Provides for us all, never to bend or to rend
From soil that feeds us to the air we breathe
Our existence relies on this great gift we receive.

Yet, with growing numbers and our greed to prevail
We exploit her resources, leaving scars without fail
As our actions endanger what Mother Earth gives
The time has come now for us all to live.

In harmony, we must protect this green sphere
Sustainable actions and care are the key to a future clear
For generations to come, let’s leave a better world
Ensuring our legacy is one of unfurled.

The Earth is our home, a precious gem we hold dear
In gratitude, we must protect her and make amends for the fear
A future brighter than ever before lies ahead
As long as we care, she’ll continue to spread.

So let us cherish this planet so grand
Treat it with love in our hearts and hands
For Earth has given us all that we need
In return, let’s offer respect and indeed.
